Sermon 7/7/2024: “Qualm Before The Storm”

Listen here: “Qualm Before The Storm

Mark 6:1-13; Mark 6:1-13

  • Ezekiel lived during the godly reign of King Josiah, who had rediscovered Moses’ law and instituted successful reforms in Israel. Ezekiel was born toward the end of Josiah’s reign, and the kings following Josiah were not faithful.
    • So Ezekiel knew about faithfulness, and also witnessed unfaithfulness.
    • The Spirit entered into Ezekiel. This is clearly an example of being born again in the Old Testament.
    • God wanted both believers and nonbelievers to know the message of the prophets, and in our day, the message of Jesus Christ.
    • We are not used to thinking like this. We are used to thinking that God’s message is for believers—and it is!
      • But God also has a message for unbelievers.
      • God’s message is that faithfulness has consequences, and faithlessness also has consequences.
