John 20:19-31  (New American Standard Bible)<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

19 <\/sup>So when it was evening on that day, the first day<\/i> of the week, and when the doors were shut where the disciples were, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in their midst and *said to them, \u201cPeace be<\/i> with you.\u201d 20 <\/sup>And when He had said this, He showed them both His hands and His side. The disciples then rejoiced when they saw the Lord. 21 <\/sup>So Jesus said to them again, \u201cPeace be<\/i> with you; as the Father has sent Me, I also send you.\u201d 22 <\/sup>And when He had said this, He breathed on them and *said to them, \u201cReceive the Holy Spirit. 23 <\/sup>If you forgive the sins of any, their sins<\/i> have been forgiven them; if you retain the sins<\/i> of any, they have been retained.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

24 <\/sup>But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came. 25 <\/sup>So the other disciples were saying to him, \u201cWe have seen the Lord!\u201d But he said to them, \u201cUnless I see in His hands the imprint of the nails, and put my finger into the place of the nails, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

26 <\/sup>After eight days His disciples were again inside, and Thomas with them. Jesus *came, the doors having been shut, and stood in their midst and said, \u201cPeace be<\/i> with you.\u201d 27 <\/sup>Then He *said to Thomas, \u201cReach here with your finger, and see My hands; and reach here your hand and put it into My side; and do not be unbelieving, but believing.\u201d 28 <\/sup>Thomas answered and said to Him, \u201cMy Lord and my God!\u201d 29 <\/sup>Jesus *said to him, \u201cBecause you have seen Me, have you believed? Blessed are<\/i> they who did not see, and yet<\/i> believed.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why This Gospel Was Written<\/em><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

30 <\/sup>Therefore many other signs Jesus also performed in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book; 31 <\/sup>but these have been written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing you may have life in His name.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A collection of coins by the children for missions is part of the worship service the last Sunday of every month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
