The Lord Is My Light and My Salvation<\/em><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

27 The Lord is my light and my salvation;<\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n
\n

whom shall I fear?
\nThe Lord is the stronghold of my life;
\nof whom shall I be afraid?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

\n

2 <\/sup>When evildoers assail me
\nto eat up my flesh,
\nmy adversaries and foes,
\nit is they who stumble and fall.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

3 <\/sup>Though an army encamp against me,
\nmy heart shall not fear;
\nthough war arise against me,
\nyet I will be confident.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

4 <\/sup>One thing have I asked of the Lord,
\nthat will I seek after:
\nthat I may dwell in the house of the Lord
\nall the days of my life,
\nto gaze upon the beauty of the Lord
\nand to inquire in his temple.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

5 <\/sup>For he will hide me in his shelter
\nin the day of trouble;
\nhe will conceal me under the cover of his tent;
\nhe will lift me high upon a rock.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

\nabove my enemies all around me,
\nand I will offer in his tent
\nsacrifices with shouts of joy;

\nbe gracious to me and answer me!
\n8 <\/sup>You have said, \u201cSeek my face.\u201d

Jesus, High Priest of a Better Covenant<\/em><\/h3>\n

8 Now the point in what we are saying is this: we have such a high priest, one who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaven, 2 <\/sup>a minister in the holy places, in the true tent that the Lord set up, not man. 3 <\/sup>For every high priest is appointed to offer gifts and sacrifices; thus it is necessary for this priest also to have something to offer. 4 <\/sup>Now if he were on earth, he would not be a priest at all, since there are priests who offer gifts according to the law. 5 <\/sup>They serve a copy andshadow of the heavenly things. For when Moses was about to erect the tent, he was instructed by God, saying, \u201cSee that you make everything according to the pattern that was shown you on the mountain.\u201d 6 <\/sup>But as it is, Christ has obtained a ministry that is as much more excellent than the old as the covenant he mediates is better, since it is enacted on better promises. 7 <\/sup>For if that first covenant had been faultless, there would have been no occasion to look for a second.<\/p>\n
