Nonetheless, the people grew tired of it.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It wasn\u2019t the first time the people had grumbled, and it wouldn\u2019t be the last. As the journey in the wilderness continued, the grumbling increased.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Grumbling is a mark of faithlessness; gratitude is a mark of faithfulness.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>They were happy to do whatever was necessary for them to achieve salvation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>Tell us what to do, Jesus, and we\u2019ll do it! We\u2019ll do whatever is necessary to receive eternal life! <\/em>And they were serious!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>They were ready to work for a gift that had already been given.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>They were mistaking the gift with a reward.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It\u2019s like the wife says, <em>I love you<\/em>. And the husband says, <em>I\u2019ll do whatever it takes to earn your love<\/em>. The problem is that the husband hasn\u2019t heard or believed what the wife said.
