It\u2019s easy to tell God our troubles and to ask for solutions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It\u2019s more difficult to listen, to hear God, because He doesn\u2019t tell us what we want to hear. He tells us what He wants us to hear.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>And often that includes things that we don\u2019t want to hear.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>God\u2019s message to young Samuel that night was that Eli was corrupt, faithless, and that his faithlessness had corrupted his sons who were priests, and that their corruption had also infected Israel generally.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Young Samuel would need to listen to the voice of God because the voice of Eli was corrupt.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Samuel\u2019s teacher was not trustworthy, and God was going to use Samuel to teach Israel about the consequences of unfaithfulness.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The enemies of God\u2019s faithful culture in the world were not simply the faithless people of the other cultures of the world. It was the faithlessness of their own hearts.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Most of their own kings proved to be faithless, and the best of their kings were compromised at best.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sunday morning messages are available on the website (www.stpaulsmarietta.org\/audio).
