The law was given to Israel as a representative human group, and the law had run its course.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Israel was in need of renewal \u2026 again. Over the centuries Israel had experienced several cycles of corruption and renewal. But the renewals always ended in corruption over time. Corruption and renewal was a well established historical pattern.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Jesus\u2019 comment that the time was fulfilled, meant that God was going to break out of that Old Testament pattern of renewal and corruption by doing a new thing.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Paul said that we are to practice faithfulness where we are, in whatever situation we are currently in. We don\u2019t need to go somewhere else, we don\u2019t need any props.
