{"id":4394,"date":"2023-11-27T15:41:39","date_gmt":"2023-11-27T15:41:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stpaulsmarietta.org\/?p=4394"},"modified":"2023-11-27T15:42:15","modified_gmt":"2023-11-27T15:42:15","slug":"sermon-11-26-2023-the-judge","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stpaulsmarietta.org\/?p=4394","title":{"rendered":"Sermon 11\/26\/2023: &#8220;The Judge&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Listen Here: &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/stpaulsmarietta.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Ross-231126-The-Judge.mp3\">The Judge<\/a>&#8220;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ezekiel 34:11-16, 20-24; Ephesians 1:15-23<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Ezekiel said that God will \u201cjudge between the fat sheep and the lean sheep\u201d (v. 20), by which he means the rich and the poor.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Why? Because the rich \u201cpush with side and shoulder, and thrust at all the weak with (their) horns\u201d (v. 21). The rich are naturally favor the rich, and disrespect the poor. The rich serve their own advantage.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>This was a criticism against the judges and courts of Ezekiel\u2019s time. Apparently, justice was not being done, and injustice was causing problems in Ezekiel\u2019s society. Imagine that!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>God will provide the definition of justice, which He defines as righteousness. God will show people how to live in righteousness. Later, God sent Jesus to do this.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>This means that if the rich are not righteous, if they don\u2019t live righteously and hold the values of righteousness, God will bring the consequences of their unrighteousness upon them.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>To do this God needs to bring judgment on the whole society because the rich will be the last to feel God\u2019s judgment because they have a money cushion.
