{"id":4204,"date":"2023-02-20T16:16:55","date_gmt":"2023-02-20T16:16:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stpaulsmarietta.org\/?p=4204"},"modified":"2023-02-20T16:18:54","modified_gmt":"2023-02-20T16:18:54","slug":"sermon-1-19-2023-transition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stpaulsmarietta.org\/?p=4204","title":{"rendered":"Sermon 2\/19\/2023: Transition"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Listen Here: &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/stpaulsmarietta.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/Ross-230219-Transition.mp3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Transition<\/a>&#8220;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Jesus&#8217; transformation had something to do with a change from one role to the other, from the human side of His mediation to His divine side.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>As Mediator (someone who reconciles differences between disputants), He needed to be available to and to talk to and to represent both parties of the dispute.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The traditional understanding of the transfiguration is that that was when God gave Jesus complete authority, an authority greater than Moses and Elijah, greater than the law and the prophets.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Jesus is far more important, valuable, interesting, authoritative than the law and the prophets.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>So what actually happened? I have no idea! It remains a mystery. All we have is the story, and the ongoing presence of the Lord, still today.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Whatever happened, I can assure you that it was true.
