The Way of the Righteous and the End of the Ungodly<\/em><\/h3>\n\n\n\n
\n

1 Blessed is<\/i> the man
\nWho walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,
\nNor stands in the path of sinners,
\nNor sits in the seat of the scornful;
\n2 <\/sup>But his delight is<\/i> in the law of the Lord,
\nAnd in His law he meditates day and night.
\n3 <\/sup>He shall be like a tree
\nPlanted by the rivers of water,
\nThat brings forth its fruit in its season,
\nWhose leaf also shall not wither;
\nAnd whatever he does shall prosper.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

4 <\/sup>The ungodly are<\/i> not so,
\nBut are<\/i> like the chaff which the wind drives away.

3 <\/sup>\u201cHappy are those who know they are spiritually poor;
\nthe Kingdom of heaven belongs to them!
\n4 <\/sup>\u201cHappy are those who mourn;
\nGod will comfort them!
\n5 <\/sup>\u201cHappy are those who are humble;
\nthey will receive what God has promised!
\n6 <\/sup>\u201cHappy are those whose greatest desire is to do what God requires;
\nGod will satisfy them fully!
\n7 <\/sup>\u201cHappy are those who are merciful to others;
\nGod will be merciful to them!
\n8 <\/sup>\u201cHappy are the pure in heart;
\nthey will see God!
\n9 <\/sup>\u201cHappy are those who work for peace;
\nGod will call them his children!
\n10 <\/sup>\u201cHappy are those who are persecuted because they do what God requires;
\nthe Kingdom of heaven belongs to them!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

11 <\/sup>\u201cHappy are you when people insult you and persecute you and tell all kinds of evil lies against you because you are my followers. 12 <\/sup>Be happy and glad, for a great reward is kept for you in heaven. This is how the prophets who lived before you were persecuted.<\/p>\n
