Isaiah 55:1-11  (English Standard Version)<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Compassion of the Lord<\/em><\/h3>\n\n\n\n
\n

55 \u201cCome, everyone who thirsts,
\ncome to the waters;
\nand he who has no money,
\ncome, buy and eat!
\nCome, buy wine and milk
\nwithout money and without price.
\n2 <\/sup>Why do you spend your money for that which is not bread,
\nand your labor for that which does not satisfy?
\nListen diligently to me, and eat what is good,
\nand delight yourselves in rich food.
\n3 <\/sup>Incline your ear, and come to me;
\nhear, that your soul may live;
\nand I will make with you an everlasting covenant,
\nmy steadfast, sure love for David.
\n4 <\/sup>Behold, I made him a witness to the peoples,
\na leader and commander for the peoples.
\n5 <\/sup>Behold, you shall call a nation that you do not know,
\nand a nation that did not know you shall run to you,
\nbecause of the Lord your God, and of the Holy One of Israel,
\nfor he has glorified you.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

6 <\/sup>\u201cSeek the Lord while he may be found;
\ncall upon him while he is near;
\n7 <\/sup>let the wicked forsake his way,
\nand the unrighteous man his thoughts;
\nlet him return to the Lord, that he may have compassion on him,
\nand to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
\n8 <\/sup>For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
\nneither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord.
\n9 <\/sup>For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
\nso are my ways higher than your ways
\nand my thoughts than your thoughts.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

10 <\/sup>\u201cFor as the rain and the snow come down from heaven
\nand do not return there but water the earth,
\nmaking it bring forth and sprout,
\ngiving seed to the sower and bread to the eater,
\n11 <\/sup>so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth;
\nit shall not return to me empty,
\nbut it shall accomplish that which I purpose,
\nand shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.<\/p>\n
