(English Standard Version)<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><em><span id=\"en-ESV-18322\" class=\"text Isa-35-1\">The Ransomed Shall Return<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"poetry\">\n<p class=\"line\"><span class=\"chapter-2\"><span class=\"text Isa-35-1\"><span class=\"chapternum\">35&nbsp;<\/span>The wilderness and the dry land shall be glad;<\/span><\/span><br>\n<span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><span class=\"text Isa-35-1\">the desert shall rejoice and blossom like the crocus;<\/span><\/span><br>\n<span id=\"en-ESV-18323\" class=\"text Isa-35-2\"><sup class=\"versenum\">2&nbsp;<\/sup>it shall blossom abundantly<\/span><br>\n<span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><span class=\"text Isa-35-2\">and rejoice with joy and singing.<\/span><\/span><br>\n<span class=\"text Isa-35-2\">The glory of Lebanon shall be given to it,<\/span><br>\n<span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><span class=\"text Isa-35-2\">the majesty of&nbsp;Carmel and&nbsp;Sharon.<\/span><\/span><br>\n<span class=\"text Isa-35-2\">They shall see the glory of the&nbsp;<span class=\"small-caps\">Lord<\/span>,<\/span><br>\n<span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><span class=\"text Isa-35-2\">the majesty of our God.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"poetry top-1\">\n<p class=\"line\"><span id=\"en-ESV-18324\" class=\"text Isa-35-3\"><sup class=\"versenum\">3&nbsp;<\/sup>Strengthen the weak hands,<\/span><br>\n<span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><span class=\"text Isa-35-3\">and make firm the feeble knees.<\/span><\/span><br>\n<span id=\"en-ESV-18325\" class=\"text Isa-35-4\"><sup class=\"versenum\">4&nbsp;<\/sup>Say to those who have an anxious heart,<\/span><br>\n<span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><span class=\"text Isa-35-4\">\u201cBe strong; fear not!<\/span><\/span><br>\n<span class=\"text Isa-35-4\">Behold, your God<\/span><br>\n<span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><span class=\"text Isa-35-4\">will come with vengeance,<\/span><\/span><br>\n<span class=\"text Isa-35-4\">with the recompense of God.<\/span><br>\n<span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><span class=\"text Isa-35-4\">He will come and save you.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"poetry top-1\">\n<p class=\"line\"><span id=\"en-ESV-18326\" class=\"text Isa-35-5\"><sup class=\"versenum\">5&nbsp;<\/sup>Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened,<\/span><br>\n<span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><span class=\"text Isa-35-5\">and the ears of the deaf unstopped;<\/span><\/span><br>\n<span id=\"en-ESV-18327\" class=\"text Isa-35-6\"><sup class=\"versenum\">6&nbsp;<\/sup>then shall the lame man leap like a deer,<\/span><br>\n<span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><span class=\"text Isa-35-6\">and the tongue of the mute sing for joy.<\/span><\/span><br>\n<span class=\"text Isa-35-6\">For waters break forth in the wilderness,<\/span><br>\n<span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><span class=\"text Isa-35-6\">and streams in the desert;<\/span><\/span><br>\n<span id=\"en-ESV-18328\" class=\"text Isa-35-7\"><sup class=\"versenum\">7&nbsp;<\/sup>the burning sand shall become a pool,<\/span><br>\n<span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><span class=\"text Isa-35-7\">and the thirsty ground springs of water;<\/span><\/span><br>\n<span class=\"text Isa-35-7\">in the haunt of&nbsp;jackals, where they lie down,<\/span><br>\n<span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><span class=\"text Isa-35-7\">the grass shall become reeds and rushes.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"poetry top-1\">\n<p class=\"line\"><span id=\"en-ESV-18329\" class=\"text Isa-35-8\"><sup class=\"versenum\">8&nbsp;<\/sup>And a highway shall be there,<\/span><br>\n<span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><span class=\"text Isa-35-8\">and it shall be called the Way of Holiness;<\/span><\/span><br>\n<span class=\"text Isa-35-8\">the unclean shall not pass over it.<\/span><br>\n<span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><span class=\"text Isa-35-8\">It shall belong to those who walk on the way;<\/span><\/span><br>\n<span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><span class=\"text Isa-35-8\">even if they are fools, they shall not go astray.<\/span><\/span><br>\n<span id=\"en-ESV-18330\" class=\"text Isa-35-9\"><sup class=\"versenum\">9&nbsp;<\/sup>No lion shall be there,<\/span><br>\n<span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><span class=\"text Isa-35-9\">nor shall any ravenous beast come up on it;<\/span><\/span><br>\n<span class=\"text Isa-35-9\">they shall not be found there,<\/span><br>\n<span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><span class=\"text Isa-35-9\">but the redeemed shall walk there.<\/span><\/span><br>\n<span id=\"en-ESV-18331\" class=\"text Isa-35-10\"><sup class=\"versenum\">10&nbsp;<\/sup>And the ransomed of the&nbsp;<span class=\"small-caps\">Lord<\/span>&nbsp;shall return<\/span><br>\n<span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><span class=\"text Isa-35-10\">and come to Zion with singing;<\/span><\/span><br>\n<span class=\"text Isa-35-10\">everlasting joy shall be upon their heads;<\/span><br>\n<span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><span class=\"text Isa-35-10\">they shall obtain gladness and joy,<\/span><\/span><br>\n<span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><span class=\"text Isa-35-10\">and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #800000\"><em><strong>John 9&nbsp; (English Standard Version)<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><em><span id=\"en-ESV-26430\" class=\"text John-9-1\">Jesus Heals a Man Born Blind<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"chapter-1\"><span class=\"text John-9-1\"><span class=\"chapternum\">9&nbsp;<\/span>As he passed by, he saw a man blind from birth.<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-ESV-26431\" class=\"text John-9-2\"><sup class=\"versenum\">2&nbsp;<\/sup>And his disciples asked him,&nbsp;\u201cRabbi,&nbsp;who sinned,&nbsp;this man or&nbsp;his parents, that he was born blind?\u201d<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-ESV-26432\" class=\"text John-9-3\"><sup class=\"versenum\">3&nbsp;<\/sup>Jesus answered,&nbsp;<span class=\"woj\">\u201cIt was not that this man sinned, or his parents, but&nbsp;that the works of God might be displayed in him.<\/span><\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-ESV-26433\" class=\"text John-9-4\"><span class=\"woj\"><sup class=\"versenum\">4&nbsp;<\/sup>We must&nbsp;work the works of him who sent me&nbsp;while it is day; night is coming, when no one can work.<\/span><\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-ESV-26434\" class=\"text John-9-5\"><span class=\"woj\"><sup class=\"versenum\">5&nbsp;<\/sup>As long as I am in the world,&nbsp;I am the light of the world.\u201d<\/span><\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-ESV-26435\" class=\"text John-9-6\"><sup class=\"versenum\">6&nbsp;<\/sup>Having said these things,&nbsp;he spit on the ground and made mud with the saliva.&nbsp;Then he anointed the man&#8217;s eyes with the mud<\/span><span id=\"en-ESV-26436\" class=\"text John-9-7\"><sup class=\"versenum\">7&nbsp;<\/sup>and said to him,&nbsp;<span class=\"woj\">\u201cGo, wash in&nbsp;the pool of Siloam\u201d<\/span>&nbsp;(which means Sent). So he went and washed and&nbsp;came back seeing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-ESV-26437\" class=\"text John-9-8\"><sup class=\"versenum\">8&nbsp;<\/sup>The neighbors and those who had seen him before as a beggar were saying,&nbsp;\u201cIs this not the man who used to sit and beg?\u201d<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-ESV-26438\" class=\"text John-9-9\"><sup class=\"versenum\">9&nbsp;<\/sup>Some said, \u201cIt is he.\u201d Others said, \u201cNo, but he is like him.\u201d He kept saying, \u201cI am the man.\u201d<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-ESV-26439\" class=\"text John-9-10\"><sup class=\"versenum\">10&nbsp;<\/sup>So they said to him, \u201cThen how were your eyes opened?\u201d<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-ESV-26440\" class=\"text John-9-11\"><sup class=\"versenum\">11&nbsp;<\/sup>He answered,&nbsp;\u201cThe man called Jesus made mud and anointed my eyes and said to me,&nbsp;<span class=\"woj\">\u2018Go to Siloam and wash.\u2019<\/span>&nbsp;So I went and washed and received my sight.\u201d<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-ESV-26441\" class=\"text John-9-12\"><sup class=\"versenum\">12&nbsp;<\/sup>They said to him, \u201cWhere is he?\u201d He said, \u201cI do not know.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-ESV-26442\" class=\"text John-9-13\"><sup class=\"versenum\">13&nbsp;<\/sup>They brought to the Pharisees the man who had formerly been blind.<\/span><span id=\"en-ESV-26443\" class=\"text John-9-14\"><sup class=\"versenum\">14&nbsp;<\/sup>Now it was a Sabbath day when Jesus made the mud and opened his eyes.<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-ESV-26444\" class=\"text John-9-15\"><sup class=\"versenum\">15&nbsp;<\/sup>So the Pharisees again asked him how he had received his sight. And he said to them, \u201cHe put mud on my eyes, and I washed, and I see.\u201d<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-ESV-26445\" class=\"text John-9-16\"><sup class=\"versenum\">16&nbsp;<\/sup>Some of the Pharisees said, \u201cThis man is not&nbsp;from God,&nbsp;for he does not keep the Sabbath.\u201d But others said,&nbsp;\u201cHow can a man who is a sinner do such signs?\u201d And&nbsp;there was a division among them.<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-ESV-26446\" class=\"text John-9-17\"><sup class=\"versenum\">17&nbsp;<\/sup>So they said again to the blind man, \u201cWhat do you say about him, since he has opened your eyes?\u201d He said,&nbsp;\u201cHe is a prophet.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-ESV-26447\" class=\"text John-9-18\"><sup class=\"versenum\">18&nbsp;<\/sup>The Jews&nbsp;did not believe that he had been blind and had received his sight, until they called the parents of the man who had received his sight<\/span><span id=\"en-ESV-26448\" class=\"text John-9-19\"><sup class=\"versenum\">19&nbsp;<\/sup>and asked them, \u201cIs this your son, who you say was born blind? How then does he now see?\u201d<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-ESV-26449\" class=\"text John-9-20\"><sup class=\"versenum\">20&nbsp;<\/sup>His parents answered, \u201cWe know that this is our son and that he was born blind.<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-ESV-26450\" class=\"text John-9-21\"><sup class=\"versenum\">21&nbsp;<\/sup>But how he now sees we do not know, nor do we know who opened his eyes. Ask him; he is of age. He will speak for himself.\u201d<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-ESV-26451\" class=\"text John-9-22\"><sup class=\"versenum\">22&nbsp;<\/sup>(His parents said these things&nbsp;because they feared the Jews, for&nbsp;the Jews had already agreed that if anyone should&nbsp;confess Jesus&nbsp;to be Christ,&nbsp;he was to be put out of the synagogue.)<\/span><span id=\"en-ESV-26452\" class=\"text John-9-23\"><sup class=\"versenum\">23&nbsp;<\/sup>Therefore his parents said,&nbsp;\u201cHe is of age; ask him.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-ESV-26453\" class=\"text John-9-24\"><sup class=\"versenum\">24&nbsp;<\/sup>So for the second time they called the man who had been blind and said to him,&nbsp;\u201cGive glory to God. We know that&nbsp;this man is a sinner.\u201d<\/span><span id=\"en-ESV-26454\" class=\"text John-9-25\"><sup class=\"versenum\">25&nbsp;<\/sup>He answered, \u201cWhether he is a sinner I do not know. One thing I do know, that though I&nbsp;was blind, now I see.\u201d<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-ESV-26455\" class=\"text John-9-26\"><sup class=\"versenum\">26&nbsp;<\/sup>They said to him, \u201cWhat did he do to you? How did he open your eyes?\u201d<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-ESV-26456\" class=\"text John-9-27\"><sup class=\"versenum\">27&nbsp;<\/sup>He answered them,&nbsp;\u201cI have told you already, and you would not listen. Why do you want to hear it again? Do you also want to become his disciples?\u201d<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-ESV-26457\" class=\"text John-9-28\"><sup class=\"versenum\">28&nbsp;<\/sup>And they reviled him, saying, \u201cYou are his disciple, but&nbsp;we are disciples of Moses.<\/span><span id=\"en-ESV-26458\" class=\"text John-9-29\"><sup class=\"versenum\">29&nbsp;<\/sup>We know that God has spoken to Moses, but as for this man,&nbsp;we do not know where he comes from.\u201d<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-ESV-26459\" class=\"text John-9-30\"><sup class=\"versenum\">30&nbsp;<\/sup>The man answered, \u201cWhy, this is&nbsp;an amazing thing!&nbsp;You do not know where he comes from, and yet he opened my eyes.<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-ESV-26460\" class=\"text John-9-31\"><sup class=\"versenum\">31&nbsp;<\/sup>We know that&nbsp;God does not listen to sinners, but&nbsp;if anyone is a worshiper of God and does his will, God listens to him.<\/span><span id=\"en-ESV-26461\" class=\"text John-9-32\"><sup class=\"versenum\">32&nbsp;<\/sup>Never since the world began has it been heard that anyone opened the eyes of a man born blind.<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-ESV-26462\" class=\"text John-9-33\"><sup class=\"versenum\">33&nbsp;<\/sup>If this man were not from God, he could do nothing.\u201d<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-ESV-26463\" class=\"text John-9-34\"><sup class=\"versenum\">34&nbsp;<\/sup>They answered him,&nbsp;\u201cYou were born in utter sin, and would you teach us?\u201d And they&nbsp;cast him out.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-ESV-26464\" class=\"text John-9-35\"><sup class=\"versenum\">35&nbsp;<\/sup>Jesus heard that they had cast him out, and having found him he said,&nbsp;<span class=\"woj\">\u201cDo you believe in&nbsp;the Son of Man?\u201d<\/span><\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-ESV-26465\" class=\"text John-9-36\"><sup class=\"versenum\">36&nbsp;<\/sup>He answered,&nbsp;\u201cAnd who is he, sir, that I may believe in him?\u201d<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-ESV-26466\" class=\"text John-9-37\"><sup class=\"versenum\">37&nbsp;<\/sup>Jesus said to him,&nbsp;<span class=\"woj\">\u201cYou have seen him, and&nbsp;it is he who is speaking to you.\u201d<\/span><\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-ESV-26467\" class=\"text John-9-38\"><sup class=\"versenum\">38&nbsp;<\/sup>He said, \u201cLord, I believe,\u201d and he worshiped him.<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-ESV-26468\" class=\"text John-9-39\"><sup class=\"versenum\">39&nbsp;<\/sup>Jesus said,&nbsp;<span class=\"woj\">\u201cFor judgment I came into this world,&nbsp;that those who do not see may see, and&nbsp;those who see may become blind.\u201d<\/span><\/span><span id=\"en-ESV-26469\" class=\"text John-9-40\"><sup class=\"versenum\">40&nbsp;<\/sup>Some of the Pharisees near him heard these things, and said to him,&nbsp;\u201cAre we also blind?\u201d<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"en-ESV-26470\" class=\"text John-9-41\"><sup class=\"versenum\">41&nbsp;<\/sup>Jesus said to them,&nbsp;<span class=\"woj\">\u201cIf you were blind,&nbsp;you would have no guilt;&nbsp;but now that you say, \u2018We see,\u2019 your guilt remains.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000\"><strong><em>Holy Communion:<\/em><\/strong><\/span><br>\nHoly Communion is celebrated the first Sunday of every month.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000\"><em><strong>Coffee &amp;
