{"id":3627,"date":"2019-03-01T23:46:47","date_gmt":"2019-03-01T23:46:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/stpaulsmarietta.org\/?p=3627"},"modified":"2019-03-01T23:46:47","modified_gmt":"2019-03-01T23:46:47","slug":"worship-march-3-2019-last-sunday-after-epiphany","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stpaulsmarietta.org\/?p=3627","title":{"rendered":"Worship &#8211; March 3, 2019 &#8211; Last Sunday after Epiphany"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #0000b8;\"><em><strong>&#8220;Veiled&#8221;<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/stpaulsmarietta.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/Moses-Veils-His-Face.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-3628 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/stpaulsmarietta.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/Moses-Veils-His-Face-210x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"210\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #0000b8;\"><em><strong>Luke 9:28-36\u00a0 (New International Version)<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><em><span id=\"en-NIV-25330\" class=\"text Luke-9-28\">The Transfiguration<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"text Luke-9-28\"><sup class=\"versenum\">28\u00a0<\/sup>About eight days after Jesus said this, he took Peter, John and Jameswith him and went up onto a mountain to pray.<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-NIV-25331\" class=\"text Luke-9-29\"><sup class=\"versenum\">29\u00a0<\/sup>As he was praying, the appearance of his face changed, and his clothes became as bright as a flash of lightning.<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-NIV-25332\" class=\"text Luke-9-30\"><sup class=\"versenum\">30\u00a0<\/sup>Two men, Moses and Elijah, appeared in glorious splendor, talking with Jesus.<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-NIV-25333\" class=\"text Luke-9-31\"><sup class=\"versenum\">31\u00a0<\/sup>They spoke about his departure,\u00a0which he was about to bring to fulfillment at Jerusalem.<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-NIV-25334\" class=\"text Luke-9-32\"><sup class=\"versenum\">32\u00a0<\/sup>Peter and his companions were very sleepy,\u00a0but when they became fully awake, they saw his glory and the two men standing with him.<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-NIV-25335\" class=\"text Luke-9-33\"><sup class=\"versenum\">33\u00a0<\/sup>As the men were leaving Jesus, Peter said to him, \u201cMaster,\u00a0it is good for us to be here. Let us put up three shelters\u2014one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah.\u201d (He did not know what he was saying.)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-NIV-25336\" class=\"text Luke-9-34\"><sup class=\"versenum\">34\u00a0<\/sup>While he was speaking, a cloud appeared and covered them, and they were afraid as they entered the cloud.<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-NIV-25337\" class=\"text Luke-9-35\"><sup class=\"versenum\">35\u00a0<\/sup>A voice came from the cloud, saying, \u201cThis is my Son, whom I have chosen;\u00a0listen to him.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-NIV-25338\" class=\"text Luke-9-36\"><sup class=\"versenum\">36\u00a0<\/sup>When the voice had spoken, they found that Jesus was alone.
