The Transfiguration<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n28\u00a0<\/sup>About eight days after Jesus said this, he took Peter, John and Jameswith him and went up onto a mountain to pray.<\/span>\u00a029\u00a0<\/sup>As he was praying, the appearance of his face changed, and his clothes became as bright as a flash of lightning.<\/span>\u00a030\u00a0<\/sup>Two men, Moses and Elijah, appeared in glorious splendor, talking with Jesus.<\/span>\u00a031\u00a0<\/sup>They spoke about his departure,\u00a0which he was about to bring to fulfillment at Jerusalem.<\/span>\u00a032\u00a0<\/sup>Peter and his companions were very sleepy,\u00a0but when they became fully awake, they saw his glory and the two men standing with him.<\/span>\u00a033\u00a0<\/sup>As the men were leaving Jesus, Peter said to him, \u201cMaster,\u00a0it is good for us to be here. Let us put up three shelters\u2014one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah.\u201d (He did not know what he was saying.)<\/span><\/p>\n34\u00a0<\/sup>While he was speaking, a cloud appeared and covered them, and they were afraid as they entered the cloud.<\/span>\u00a035\u00a0<\/sup>A voice came from the cloud, saying, \u201cThis is my Son, whom I have chosen;\u00a0listen to him.\u201d<\/span>\u00a036\u00a0<\/sup>When the voice had spoken, they found that Jesus was alone. The disciples kept this to themselves and did not tell anyone at that time what they had seen.<\/span><\/p>\n2 Corinthians 3:12-18\u00a0 (New International Version)<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/h3>\n12\u00a0<\/sup>Therefore, since we have such a hope,\u00a0we are very bold.<\/span>\u00a013\u00a0<\/sup>We are not like Moses, who would put a veil over his face\u00a0to prevent the Israelites from seeing the end of what was passing away.<\/span>\u00a014\u00a0<\/sup>But their minds were made dull,\u00a0for to this day the same veil remains when the old covenantis read.\u00a0It has not been removed, because only in Christ is it taken away.<\/span>\u00a015\u00a0<\/sup>Even to this day when Moses is read, a veil covers their hearts.<\/span>16\u00a0<\/sup>But whenever anyone turns to the Lord,\u00a0the veil is taken away.<\/span>\u00a017\u00a0<\/sup>Now the Lord is the Spirit,\u00a0and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.<\/span>\u00a018\u00a0<\/sup>And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate\u00a0the Lord\u2019s glory,\u00a0are being transformed into his image\u00a0with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.<\/span><\/p>\nHoly Communion:<\/strong><\/em><\/span>
