“Identity Series:  Who I Am Not”<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/a><\/figure>Numbers 13:21-25  (New International Version)<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

21 <\/sup>So they went up and explored the land from the Desert of Zin as far as Rehob, toward Lebo Hamath.<\/span> 22 <\/sup>They went up through the Negev and came to Hebron, where Ahiman, Sheshai and Talmai, the descendants of Anak, lived. (Hebron had been built seven years before Zoan in Egypt.)<\/span>23 <\/sup>When they reached the Valley of Eshkol, they cut off a branch bearing a single cluster of grapes. Two of them carried it on a pole between them, along with some pomegranates and figs.<\/span> 24 <\/sup>That place was called the Valley of Eshkol because of the cluster of grapes the Israelites cut off there.<\/span> 25 <\/sup>At the end of forty days they returned from exploring the land.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Numbers 13:26-33  (New International Version)<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

26 <\/sup>And they came to Moses and Aaron and to all the congregation of the people of Israel in the wilderness of Paran, at Kadesh. They brought back word to them and to all the congregation, and showed them the fruit of the land.<\/span> 27 <\/sup>And they told him, \u201cWe came to the land to which you sent us. It flows with milk and honey, and this is its fruit.<\/span> 28 <\/sup>However, the people who dwell in the land are strong, and the cities are fortified and very large. And besides, we saw the descendants of Anak there.<\/span> 29 <\/sup>The Amalekites dwell in the land of the Negeb. The Hittites, the Jebusites, and the Amorites dwell in the hill country. And the Canaanites dwell by the sea, and along the Jordan.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

30 <\/sup>But Caleb quieted the people before Moses and said, \u201cLet us go up at once and occupy it, for we are well able to overcome it.\u201d<\/span> 31 <\/sup>Then the men who had gone up with him said, \u201cWe are not able to go up against the people, for they are stronger than we are.\u201d<\/span> 32 <\/sup>So they brought to the people of Israel a bad report of the land that they had spied out, saying, \u201cThe land, through which we have gone to spy it out, is a land that devours its inhabitants, and all the people that we saw in it are of great height.<\/span> 33 <\/sup>And there we saw the Nephilim (the sons of Anak, who come from the Nephilim), and we seemed to ourselves like grasshoppers, and so we seemed to them.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n
