Isaiah 24:1-6  (English Standard Version)<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Judgment on the Whole Earth<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n\n\n\n
\n

24 <\/span>Behold, the Lord<\/span> will empty the earth and make it desolate,<\/span><\/span>
\n    <\/span>and he will twist its surface and scatter its inhabitants.<\/span><\/span>
\n2 <\/sup>And it shall be, as with the people, so with the priest;<\/span>
\n    <\/span>as with the slave, so with his master;<\/span><\/span>
\n    <\/span>as with the maid, so with her mistress;<\/span><\/span>
\nas with the buyer, so with the seller;<\/span>
\n    <\/span>as with the lender, so with the borrower;<\/span><\/span>
\n    <\/span>as with the creditor, so with the debtor.<\/span><\/span>
\n3 <\/sup>The earth shall be utterly empty and utterly plundered;<\/span>
\n    <\/span>for the Lord<\/span> has spoken this word.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

4 <\/sup>The earth mourns and withers;<\/span>
\n    <\/span>the world languishes and withers;<\/span><\/span>
\n    <\/span>the highest people of the earth languish.<\/span><\/span>
\n5 <\/sup>The earth lies defiled<\/span>
\n    <\/span>under its inhabitants;<\/span><\/span>
\nfor they have transgressed the laws,<\/span>
\n    <\/span>violated the statutes,<\/span><\/span>
\n    <\/span>broken the everlasting covenant.<\/span><\/span>
\n6 <\/sup>Therefore a curse devours the earth,<\/span>
\n    <\/span>and its inhabitants suffer for their guilt;<\/span><\/span>
\ntherefore the inhabitants of the earth are scorched,<\/span>
\n    <\/span>and few men are left.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Future Glory<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n

18 <\/sup>For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.<\/span> 19 <\/sup>For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God.<\/span> 20 <\/sup>For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of him who subjected it, in hope<\/span> 21 <\/sup>that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to corruption and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God.<\/span> 22 <\/sup>For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until now.<\/span> 23 <\/sup>And not only the creation, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies.<\/span> 24 <\/sup>For in this hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees?<\/span> 25 <\/sup>But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.<\/span><\/p>\n

26 <\/sup>Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.<\/span> 27 <\/sup>And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.<\/span> 28 <\/sup>And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.<\/span><\/p>\n
