class=\"indent-1-breaks\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><span class=\"text Ps-148-9\">fruit trees and all cedars!<\/span><\/span><br>\n<span id=\"en-ESV-16382\" class=\"text Ps-148-10\"><sup class=\"versenum\">10&nbsp;<\/sup>Beasts and all livestock,<\/span><br>\n<span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><span class=\"text Ps-148-10\">creeping things and flying birds!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"poetry top-1\">\n<p class=\"line\"><span id=\"en-ESV-16383\" class=\"text Ps-148-11\"><sup class=\"versenum\">11&nbsp;<\/sup>Kings of the earth and all peoples,<\/span><br>\n<span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><span class=\"text Ps-148-11\">princes and all rulers of the earth!<\/span><\/span><br>\n<span id=\"en-ESV-16384\" class=\"text Ps-148-12\"><sup class=\"versenum\">12&nbsp;<\/sup>Young men and maidens together,<\/span><br>\n<span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><span class=\"text Ps-148-12\">old men and children!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"poetry top-1\">\n<p class=\"line\"><span id=\"en-ESV-16385\" class=\"text Ps-148-13\"><sup class=\"versenum\">13&nbsp;<\/sup>Let them praise the name of the <span class=\"small-caps\">Lord<\/span>,<\/span><br>\n<span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><span class=\"text Ps-148-13\">for his name alone is exalted;<\/span><\/span><br>\n<span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><span class=\"text Ps-148-13\">his majesty is above earth and heaven.<\/span><\/span><br>\n<span id=\"en-ESV-16386\" class=\"text Ps-148-14\"><sup class=\"versenum\">14&nbsp;<\/sup>He has raised up a horn for his people,<\/span><br>\n<span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><span class=\"text Ps-148-14\">praise for all his saints,<\/span><\/span><br>\n<span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><span class=\"text Ps-148-14\">for the people of Israel who are near to him.<\/span><\/span><br>\n<span class=\"text Ps-148-14\">Praise the <span class=\"small-caps\">Lord<\/span>!<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"line\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff\"><em><strong>Luke 2:22-40 &nbsp;(English Standard Version)<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/h3>\n<h3><em><span id=\"en-ESV-24987\" class=\"text Luke-2-22\">Jesus Presented at the Temple<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<p><span class=\"text Luke-2-22\"><sup class=\"versenum\">22&nbsp;<\/sup>And when the time came for their purification according to the Law of Moses, they brought him up to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord<\/span><span id=\"en-ESV-24988\" class=\"text Luke-2-23\"><sup class=\"versenum\">23&nbsp;<\/sup>(as it is written in the Law of the Lord, \u201cEvery male who first opens the womb shall be called holy to the Lord\u201d)<\/span> <span id=\"en-ESV-24989\" class=\"text Luke-2-24\"><sup class=\"versenum\">24&nbsp;<\/sup>and to offer a sacrifice according to what is said in the Law of the Lord, \u201ca pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons.\u201d<\/span> <span id=\"en-ESV-24990\" class=\"text Luke-2-25\"><sup class=\"versenum\">25&nbsp;<\/sup>Now there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon, and this man was righteous and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him.<\/span> <span id=\"en-ESV-24991\" class=\"text Luke-2-26\"><sup class=\"versenum\">26&nbsp;<\/sup>And it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death before he had seen the Lord&#8217;s Christ.<\/span> <span id=\"en-ESV-24992\" class=\"text Luke-2-27\"><sup class=\"versenum\">27&nbsp;<\/sup>And he came in the Spirit into the temple, and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him according to the custom of the Law,<\/span> <span id=\"en-ESV-24993\" class=\"text Luke-2-28\"><sup class=\"versenum\">28&nbsp;<\/sup>he took him up in his arms and blessed God and said,<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"poetry top-1\">\n<p class=\"line\"><span id=\"en-ESV-24994\" class=\"text Luke-2-29\"><sup class=\"versenum\">29&nbsp;<\/sup>\u201cLord, now you are letting your servant depart in peace,<\/span><br>\n<span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><span class=\"text Luke-2-29\">according to your word;<\/span><\/span><br>\n<span id=\"en-ESV-24995\" class=\"text Luke-2-30\"><sup class=\"versenum\">30&nbsp;<\/sup>for my eyes have seen your salvation<\/span><br>\n<span class=\"indent-1\"><span id=\"en-ESV-24996\" class=\"text Luke-2-31\"><sup class=\"versenum\">31&nbsp;<\/sup><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span>that you have prepared in the presence of all peoples,<\/span><\/span><br>\n<span id=\"en-ESV-24997\" class=\"text Luke-2-32\"><sup class=\"versenum\">32&nbsp;<\/sup>a light for revelation to the Gentiles,<\/span><br>\n<span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><span class=\"text Luke-2-32\">and for glory to your people Israel.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"top-1\"><span id=\"en-ESV-24998\" class=\"text Luke-2-33\"><sup class=\"versenum\">33&nbsp;<\/sup>And his father and his mother marveled at what was said about him.<\/span><span id=\"en-ESV-24999\" class=\"text Luke-2-34\"><sup class=\"versenum\">34&nbsp;<\/sup>And Simeon blessed them and said to Mary his mother, \u201cBehold, this child is appointed for the fall and rising of many in Israel, and for a sign that is opposed<\/span> <span id=\"en-ESV-25000\" class=\"text Luke-2-35\"><sup class=\"versenum\">35&nbsp;<\/sup>(and a sword will pierce through your own soul also), so that thoughts from many hearts may be revealed.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"en-ESV-25001\" class=\"text Luke-2-36\"><sup class=\"versenum\">36&nbsp;<\/sup>And there was a prophetess, Anna, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was advanced in years, having lived with her husband seven years from when she was a virgin,<\/span> <span id=\"en-ESV-25002\" class=\"text Luke-2-37\"><sup class=\"versenum\">37&nbsp;<\/sup>and then as a widow until she was eighty-four. She did not depart from the temple, worshiping with fasting and prayer night and day.<\/span> <span id=\"en-ESV-25003\" class=\"text Luke-2-38\"><sup class=\"versenum\">38&nbsp;<\/sup>And coming up at that very hour she began to give thanks to God and to speak of him to all who were waiting for the redemption of Jerusalem.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><em><span id=\"en-ESV-25004\" class=\"text Luke-2-39\">The Return to Nazareth<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<p><span class=\"text Luke-2-39\"><sup class=\"versenum\">39&nbsp;<\/sup>And when they had performed everything according to the Law of the Lord, they returned into Galilee, to their own town of Nazareth.<\/span> <span id=\"en-ESV-25005\" class=\"text Luke-2-40\"><sup class=\"versenum\">40&nbsp;<\/sup>And the child grew and became strong, filled with wisdom.
