“Healing the Paralytic”<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Isaiah 58:6-12  (English Standard Version)<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

6 <\/sup>\u201cIs not this the fast that I choose:<\/span>
\n    <\/span>to loose the bonds of wickedness,<\/span><\/span>
\n    <\/span>to undo the straps of the yoke,<\/span><\/span>
\nto let the oppressed go free,<\/span>
\n    <\/span>and to break every yoke?<\/span><\/span>
\n7 <\/sup>Is it not to share your bread with the hungry<\/span>
\n    <\/span>and bring the homeless poor into your house;<\/span><\/span>
\nwhen you see the naked, to cover him,<\/span>
\n    <\/span>and not to hide yourself from your own flesh?<\/span><\/span>
\n8 <\/sup>Then shall your light break forth like the dawn,<\/span>
\n    <\/span>and your healing shall spring up speedily;<\/span><\/span>

\n    <\/span>and satisfy your desire in scorched places<\/span><\/span>

Jesus Heals a Paralytic<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

2 <\/span>And when he returned to Capernaum after some days, it was reported that he was at home.<\/span> 2 <\/sup>And many were gathered together, so that there was no more room, not even at the door. And he was preaching the word to them.<\/span> 3 <\/sup>And they came, bringing to him a paralytic carried by four men.<\/span> 4 <\/sup>And when they could not get near him because of the crowd, they removed the roof above him, and when they had made an opening, they let down the bed on which the paralytic lay.<\/span> 5 <\/sup>And when Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, \u201cSon, your sins are forgiven.\u201d<\/span><\/span> 6 <\/sup>Now some of the scribes were sitting there, questioning in their hearts,<\/span>7 <\/sup>\u201cWhy does this man speak like that? He is blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?\u201d<\/span> 8 <\/sup>And immediately Jesus, perceiving in his spirit that they thus questioned within themselves, said to them, \u201cWhy do you question these things in your hearts?<\/span><\/span> 9 <\/sup>Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, \u2018Your sins are forgiven,\u2019 or to say, \u2018Rise, take up your bed and walk\u2019?<\/span><\/span> 10 <\/sup>But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins\u201d<\/span>\u2014he said to the paralytic\u2014<\/span> 11 <\/sup>\u201cI say to you, rise, pick up your bed, and go home.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n
