John 7:40-52  (New King James Version)<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Who Is He?<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

40 <\/sup>Therefore many from the crowd, when they heard this saying, said, \u201cTruly this is the Prophet.\u201d <\/span>41 <\/sup>Others said, \u201cThis is the Christ.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

But some said, \u201cWill the Christ come out of Galilee? <\/span>42 <\/sup>Has not the Scripture said that the Christ comes from the seed of David and from the town of Bethlehem, where David was?\u201d <\/span>43 <\/sup>So there was a division among the people because of Him. <\/span>44 <\/sup>Now some of them wanted to take Him, but no one laid hands on Him.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rejected by the Authorities<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

45 <\/sup>Then the officers came to the chief priests and Pharisees, who said to them, \u201cWhy have you not brought Him?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

46 <\/sup>The officers answered, \u201cNo man ever spoke like this Man!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

47 <\/sup>Then the Pharisees answered them, \u201cAre you also deceived? <\/span>48 <\/sup>Have any of the rulers or the Pharisees believed in Him? <\/span>49 <\/sup>But this crowd that does not know the law is accursed.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

50 <\/sup>Nicodemus (he who came to Jesus by night, being one of them) said to them,<\/span>51 <\/sup>\u201cDoes our law judge a man before it hears him and knows what he is doing?\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

52 <\/sup>They answered and said to him, \u201cAre you also from Galilee? Search and look, for no prophet has arisen out of Galilee.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n
