Deuteronomy 4:1-2; James 1:22-27
- The very first thing that Israel was commanded to do was to hear, to perceive, to become aware of a God’s Word.
- God speaks, and the only way to know what God speaks is to listen, to hear Him.
- It’s very easy and very common for people to impose their own understanding on God’s Word, to see in God’s Word what we want to see, rather than what God wants to show us.
- This is often done through a process called equivocation.
- I don’t mean to pick on politics, but we are inundated with it! We are drowning in equivocation!
I bring it up because it is a religious issue, a spiritual concern, and a biblical heresy.
