Sermon 8/25/2024: “Empty Armor”

Listen Here: “Empty Armor

John 6:56-69; Ephesians 6:10-20

  • Most people walked away when they heard the unvarnished truth. The truth cuts through the lies and falsehoods. The truth has a point. It pricks, and cuts.
  • The truth is like a surgeon’s blade that cuts out the cancer to save the patient’s life. It’s painful and messy, like repentance.
  • Truth is not as sexy as myth. Truth is not fantastic. What is fantastic exists only in fantasy; it is not real.
  • Most people prefer fantasy to reality, and Hollywood provides the proof.
  • Christians are not called to fight God’s enemies. Christians are called to gird their loins with the whole armor of God and to brandish God’s Word.
  • (This is just a teaser. If you want to know more, listen to the sermon.)
