Listen here: “Recognize“
- Luke 24:13-35; 1 Peter 1:17-23
Jesus has appeared in the flesh to the companions, but He pretended not to know what they were talking about, and they failed to recognize Him. - So, if you have inserted yourself in the story as the companion of Cleopas, you are now accused of ignorance and/or unawareness that is astonishing to Jesus. Jesus thinks you should have known better.
- Yet, Jesus has compassion. He comes to see that their ignorance is real
- So as an act of mercy He “27 he explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself, beginning with Moses and all the Prophets.”
