Sermon 12/3/2023: “Apocalypse: Watch

Listen Here: “Apocalypse: Watch

Isaiah 64:1-9; Mark 13:24-37

Isaiah cries for God to “rend the heavens and come down” (v. 1), which is a cry for God to fix his broken world. There is a difference between reading something literally and reading it literarily. The Bible is a work of literature, not a book of magic language.

The Bible testifies to the fact that God destroyed His Temple more than once. Jesus said that Israel was on the precipice of another destruction, which then occurred in A.D. 70. Scripture is also a testimony that God is not beyond doing such a thing again, even to Christians, should His people need that kind of instruction again.
